Tripzy Privacy Policy

Tripzy ("Tripzy", "we", "us") is a platform that helps people find others travelling the same way, and helps people with unused parking space find people who need it. This policy explains what personal information the Tripzy mobile app and website collect, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

Tripzy is operated from India. By using the app you agree to this policy.

The short version. We collect your mobile number, your name, and your location so the app can work. Your phone number and exact address are shown to another user only after you accept their request, or they accept yours. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not process any payment between you and anyone else.

Information collected automatically

Location. With your permission, the app uses your device location to show trips and parking near you and to help you select pickup and drop points. Location is used while the app is in use. Tripzy does not track your location in the background.
Device and account identifiers. A Firebase user ID, a device identifier and a push notification token, used to keep you signed in and to deliver notifications about your requests.
Basic technical logs. Standard server logs such as IP address and request time, kept for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use your information

To create your account and sign you in
To show trips and parking spaces relevant to where you are and where you are going
To pass a request from one user to another, and to notify you when a request is sent, accepted or declined
To let two people who have agreed to travel together, or to share a parking space, contact each other
To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and respond to reports about a user
To comply with applicable law

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

3. What other users can see

This is the part that matters most, so it is stated plainly.

Your first name, the general area of your trip or parking space, the date and time, and the price terms you set. No phone number. No exact address or space number.	Your name, your mobile number, and the exact pickup point or parking address and space number are shared with the other person, so that the two of you can meet.

You decide who to accept. If you do not accept a request, the person who sent it does not receive your contact details.

4. Payments

Tripzy does not collect, hold, process or transfer money. The app records only whether a trip is offered free, paid, or on a cost-sharing basis, and whatever price terms a parking owner chooses to display. Any money that changes hands is arranged and settled directly between the two people involved, on terms they agree between themselves. Tripzy charges no commission, platform fee or convenience fee, and is not a party to the arrangement.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of established providers to run the service. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where it is necessary to protect the safety of a user or the public.

6. How long we keep your data

Account information is kept while your account is open.
Trip and parking listings are kept while they are active, and for a limited period afterwards so both parties have a record of what was agreed.
Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
When you delete your account, we delete your personal data as described below.

7. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your Tripzy account and the personal data attached to it at any time.

In the app: open Settings, then Delete account.
On the web: visit tripzy.in/delete-account and submit a request with the mobile number registered to the account.
By email: write to the address in section 11.

When an account is deleted we remove your name, mobile number, email address, profile photo, device identifiers and your saved locations. Trips and parking requests that another user was part of may be retained in an anonymised form, without anything that identifies you, so that the other person's own history remains intact. Requests are actioned within 30 days.

8. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. Access to the production database is restricted. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase, so Tripzy never stores your password or your one-time password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold.

9. Your choices and rights

You can browse trips and parking listings without an account. An account is needed only to post a listing or send a request.
You can refuse or later withdraw the location permission in your device settings. Some features will be limited without it.
You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to the address in section 11.

10. Children

Tripzy is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how your information is used, we will notify you in the app before it takes effect.
